Dear Acid Alex

I can't remember the first time I held that mal green cover of yours and looked at you china. You look a bit like me just worse. That rof and onbeskof jol. But Aai... You are a work of deep love my friend and I prayed over you before you were even conceived.

Putting you together was hard, but I reckon you know that. So many bad binges. A lot of pain. A lot of other people's pain. But you have to also check it out bra - you wouldn't be here if those people hadn't believed in you in spite of it. Personally, I want you to understand china, that for all of us and every single one of us who has read you - it was worth it. And I think I can speak freely for all of us and say - we really really mean it...with every single one of our hearts.

You were written for me and I needed you man - but we have separated from each other and you have gone on to make amazing friends in amazing places all over the world. Everywhere, I know because these people write to me. Fuck china you get around!!

Made them laugh, made them cry and weep, make them want to slap you, stand in awe at your intelligence and your utterly box of stones stupidity - my dearest friend...you are honest. And that is what makes you so powerful.

You'd be pleased to know that I eventually managed to help Joey, Lydia and Yolanda. I'm not going to explain. But I've made a way so that they are not hungry anymore - and if I can help it, will never be again. I've been working very hard my brother and now I own a small business. So carry their pain a little easier inside you friend.

When I look at you there now, lying on my desk - I want you to understand bra, the eyes you talk about in Madness and Miracles..., well for you ...they were my eyes. Every single last word. I watched over you, prayed over you and made sure you were perfect for your purpose. Just like me. I've got my own journey to go on Old Friend. You know me - I'm a chatterbox but I'm not going to write anymore, well not like this anymore. I'm done talking, I'm learning to speak universally using light and that's much harder. I've got a brand new friend who works with me - to do exactly that. And she is perfectly exact. Her name is Cannon EOS 400D and she is beautiful and flawless. She shot the picture of me above here. Of course, when she's in my hands - that is something completely different. We have just been on a Journey with a friend of mine named Dirk Winterbach. He's a sculptor and his work is going to be the basis of my first exhibition. The camera in my hand in the image is her little sister and belongs to the person who shot that picture and who is also a professional photographer.

Someone very, very special and I actually wrote to tell you about her. She is my wife Natasha and she is Robbie's mommy. I've posted a picture of him below ....

For us, it's our usual time she's just fed him and he is lying fast asleep with us. And I want to be there too... Brother it's time for me to go and be with them like in that opening poem of yours. It's happening to me right this second...

As for you, you old mallit - You go on your journey and you keep healing hearts my amazing friend. Maybe we meet again one day when someone much smaller than us but someone so much more special and closer - reads you...

Thank you for opening the door for me to believe in and experience real healing. And giving it away.

Love Al

The Smell of Tears - a short story by Al Lovejoy

If you read Acid Alex, you might enjoy reading a non-fiction short story I wrote and titled - The Smell of Tears - with a discussion group on Facebook but please, do not read this story if you are an easily upset person. I mean it! And don't let children read this story either...
