Hi Cousin
If you are a first time visitor, welcome!
you are re-visiting - welcome back! And of course, if you
are one of my readers, thank you - you have encouraged me
immensely. I hope I managed to do the same for you.
The very, very good news is that I have
republished and Acid
Alex is now available internationally through Amazon.com
I also established The Lovejoy Family Trust, an
Organisation to promote and sell the second edition of the book
Acid Alex, the proceeds of which will all go to The Trust and ultimately for
establishing and building a permanent children's home from scratch. By simply buying the book from Amazon.com - you become a real partner and a personal friend in realising this dream of mine ...
Every book we sell is a few more bricks in the walls.
Eleven years ago, I realised what I wanted from life. My life dream is:
I want to build and establish my own children's
home.
Unfortunately I happened to be locked up in a prison for reasons that I wrote the book for. And it took me eleven years to walk away from being a violent criminal to being a gentle loving father.
Along the way I left heroin, crack and alcoholism behind permanently - something I will discuss elsewhere
on Facebook for those who are still suffering. I'm undergoing long term psychiatric treatment. At first it was for acute PTSS but now it is more a journey of exploration into the new mysteries of fatherhood.
It was a hard, lonely and dangerous journey. Along the way I wrote
Acid Alex - for actual therapy and for emotional and mental healing. The beautiful thing is: It worked!!
So ... after eleven years, I'm finally a daddy, I've left drugs, crime and the horrors of my past behind me and now, all that is left, is to push on and try reach my dream and be a father to the fatherless.
The
Facebook Group is open to all my readers, because if you've read
Acid Alex - you will understand exactly why I started it. If you
vigorously promote this cause or buy a copy from Amazon.com - you are already a part of this project.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
1. If you have not done so yet, click on the link and purchase a copy of
Acid Alex from Amazon.com.
That makes you a partner in their future's forever.
2. Invite all your Facebook friends to join the Another
Brick in the Walls group if you think it is for a worthy cause.
3. My wife says I underestimate how much my readers believe in me and trust
my judgement and opinion. Okay, here goes ... this is the only way I think I can pull this one
off the right karma way. I need your help!
4. I shouldn't be worried ... I thought alcoholism would kill me and yet I saw my son born 100% sober. (This one is for me)
5. My wife has told me to make it a five year plan, so we have five years to sell enough copies and finish building. Will you join in and help us swap hope for hopelessness and
help us sell books to score bricks???
6. Please. (pretty, with cherries on top)
Peace and love . . .
That's me, intellectual freckles and
angelwort-warts and all - and thank you once again for
dropping by. If you've read Acid Alex, feel free to scribble
a line at the address on the book, that is - should the urge
grip you or poke you and then shake you about
uncontrollably. And again, pretty please with cherries on top, if you are a fan - help us and
actively advertise Acid Alex to all
your friends and their friend's friends across the Global
Village. And their mom's and grannies too. I would appreciate
that more than I know how to say. It would be well spent kudos elsewhere,
...my reader's
keep telling me how incredibly important this book is. That Acid
Alex changes lives. However this may sound ... it
actually changed mine. Help us
make it important to other people too Cousin. And in
the process ...
Our own children's home for an orphaned kid or three like
me??? From the slums, conflict areas and hellholes of the
world?
Directly and because of
writing Acid Alex, one permanent children's home was
built in Stellenbosch. That edition was for the children
growing up in it now - the second edition is for me and Tash
and Robbie. I need to be a daddy to little ones who have
nothing and no one as much as they need us as their own
family.
A huge commitment for
life.
Scary, I know. But now, at long, long last - I think I'm ready for it. After
post-natal caring for our own baby as a prem 24/7, I'm used
to being very, very careful with a tiny fagile life.
I'm a proud parent and can't wait to feel more little arms around
my neck. And the peace that will finally come to me in
knowing I cannot save them all and be their daddy - but
these two, three, ten, .... So, Cousin if you are a
reader, become a silent (or ubernoisy) friend of ours and take a
little time to be virtual friend of Acid
Alex, especially if he has been a good friend to you - tell the
whole real world and especially the MySpace or Facebook - you know,
exactly
what you
think of the boy. Write a chain mail, Pay it Forward -
pass on this Book
Brochure and help us boost distribution in the EU and USA
...like I said: each copy we sell scores a few
more bricks or part of a sack of cement for the home and
makes you an effective partner in realising the book's other
more ambitious purpose - exchanging hope for hopelessness.
Yeah? So, hang in there and if you need to
- you can get better Cousin. I am. Little step, by little
step. Kissy by hug by kissy. Like I said, I truly hope with all my heart - I've managed to encourage you too...it's
why I didn't just write the book for myself.
Why ... I was born to tell a story...
